Wrenbridge Shinfield Park Reading

Planning Approval has been granted for the redevelopment of Shinfield Park in Reading, back into productive use. The scheme for industrial regeneration specialists Wrenbridge, will transform the long-vacant site into a modern and sustainable employment campus that meets the local need for new industrial floorspace.
The proposal replaces the former Berkshire County Council site with five high-quality buildings providing six employment units to deliver flexible, future-ready spaces to meet evolving tenant operational needs, supporting long-term resilience and adaptability.
The scheme’s layout and architecture have been carefully designed to balance operational functionality with sensitivity to context. Architecturally, the buildings are designed to achieve a high-quality finish, with carefully considered materials and detailing that introduce texture, rhythm and visual interest to key elevations. The result is a contemporary employment environment that is both aesthetically appealing and operationally robust.
Sustainability has informed every stage of the design process. The development is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A ratings, reflecting a commitment to high environmental performance and reduced operational carbon.
The landscape design builds upon the site’s existing natural assets, enhancing boundary planting to soften edges and create green buffers with surrounding areas. Landscaped links and seating areas have been incorporated to establish an attractive, accessible and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
An enhanced landscape and biodiversity strategy will retain existing ponds, safeguard nearby Ancient Woodland and Local Wildlife Sites, and deliver net gains in biodiversity through new planting and ecological links.
Through its considered design and sustainable intent, Shinfield Park will bring a vacant site back into meaningful use, creating high-quality workplaces that promote wellbeing, adaptability and long-term economic value.
