Part of a major £145 million regeneration scheme in a residential area of Gosport near Southampton, Alver Village is a development of new 2, 3 & 4 bedroom houses plus 1 & 2 bedroom apartments of which 30% are affordable. The masterplan for the area is replacing current poor quality housing and a run-down shopping parade with new homes, a new neighbourhood centre and supermarket which will sit at the heart of the new community.

Chetwoods were appointed to develop Phase 2, which aimed to revitalise the wider neighbourhood, providing a new Tesco supermarket and car park, together with a public square and play area. Tesco’s presence within this phase has greatly improved the social and economic sustainability of the wider masterplan, by creating approximately 150 local jobs and helping to make Rowner a destination for residents of Gosport and the surrounding area. There is also a series of contemporary, low-rise apartment blocks with active frontages, and a 10-storey landmark tower, housing 101 mixed apartments.

Chetwoods were lead consultants for design and delivery of Phase 2 of the masterplan. This involved securing planning consent before being novated to the contractor for the delivery phase.
