A 550,000 sqft mixed use retail and leisure scheme completed in two phases for clients Carillion Richardson Partnership.

Forming the heart of a new town centre, the scheme features anchor retail stores for Debenhams and Marks & Spencer. In addition there are over 30 retail and restaurant units, a multi-screen VUE cinema and offices, all linked by an open pedestrianised arcade to car parking for 1500 cars.

Chetwoods were initially appointed to develop feasibility options for a multi-use out of town retail destination, and subsequently as lead architect to design and deliver the shopping complex. Following purchase of the site by Land Securities Chetwoods were engaged to design a standalone Primark unit and new Sainsbury’s supermarket.
