Chetwoods developed proposals for a conceptual masterplan for the Mount Lu Estate of World Architecture (MOLEWA) in Ruichang, China, a new tourist destination and world-class assembly of architecture.

At over 20 hectares MOLEWA will form the heart of the Huayan Township which combines residential, commercial, hotel and cultural projects over 67 hectares. The wider scheme includes Flower Ocean which at more than 80 hectares will be one of the world’s largest flower-themed parks.

MOLEWA is one of four masterplans Chetwoods are developing for Hua Yan Group in Central China’s new ‘Fourth Pole’ economic and cultural engine zone, where Wuhan has recently been re-designated an environmental city of the future by the regional and central governments.

Mount Lu is one of the most celebrated tourist destinations in China, renowned both for its stunning scenery and its cultural heritage, attracting more than 10 million visitors annually. Flower Ocean will enhance the visitor experience in Ruichang where new transport links will provide a new gateway into the region.

The masterplan will link landscape, visitor experience and new mixed-use development creating connections and linkages with the existing city.
