Alver Village is a development of new two, three, and four bedroom houses, plus one and two bedroom apartments of which 30% were affordable. The masterplan for the area replaced poor-quality housing and a run-down shopping parade with new homes, and a new neighbourhood centre and supermarket at the heart of the community.

We were lead consultants for the design and delivery of Phase 2 of the masterplan. This involved securing planning consent before being novated to the contractor for the delivery phase.

Phase 2 was designed to revitalise the wider neighbourhood, providing a new Tesco supermarket and car park, together with a public square and play area. The development included a series of contemporary, low-rise apartment blocks with active frontages, and a ten-storey landmark tower, housing 101 mixed apartments. Tesco’s presence within this phase improved the social and economic sustainability of the wider masterplan, creating approximately 150 local jobs and helping to make Rowner a destination for residents of Gosport and the surrounding area.
