George Head Office View images

A new headquarters building for George, Asda, providing high quality, bespoke office accommodation. The maximisation of workspace quality and the intuitive use of materials create high class office space for all staff and include a restaurant with break out space and informal meeting areas. It also has a 3 storey entrance foyer, sales mock up areas and enough storage for the entire years collection.

Corrugated cladding panels, concrete and steel epitomise the shed typology of the location but the way in which they are used and detailed reflects the building’s function as an office Headquarters.

The building layout maximises natural daylight in the office areas, which are situated in two wings with a central core running between them. This core has a three storey glazed entrance providing a landmark feature seen from the entrance to the multi-tenanted site. Internally, the naturally ventilated office space is on the first and second floors of the building, while a staff restaurant and meeting rooms, spaces not used for long periods, are at ground level.

A very good ‘BREEAM’ rating was achieved by utilising many technologies discovered through Chetwoods’ research and development commitment to environmental design.
