Chetwoods developed a masterplan for the South Bank of the River Avon as part of Bath Western Riverside re-development, creating a new mixed use destination with a strong sense of place, helping to reconnect the site both within itself and with the rest of the city.

Bath’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage City required an extremely sensitive approach to the development of design proposals to ensure they respect and complement the city’s world-renowned historic architectural and natural environment.

Over 60 stakeholders were engaged in a series of design charrettes, held in partnership with key cultural, historical, business and resident groups across the city as well as the local authority, to make certain that all local conservation, environmental and social issues and concerns were fully understood and addressed.

The mixed-use master plan includes a 65,000 sqft gross sales flagship store, a 35,000 sqft creative office hub, a further 500,000 sqft industrial and office space, over 300 mixed residential units including 12 four-storey townhouses, works to enhance the public realm and pedestrian links and the imaginative refurbishment and reuse of existed listed buildings including the historic Green Park Station building.
